EDITOR––Its been a common complaint across the region that certain tribes seem to hold senior positions in offices compared to others!

At some point, ethnic favouritism has led to unfortunate incidents like the recent post election violence in Kenya and the Rwanda genocide!

This is one of the reasons why we have regional imbalances in our nations!

When it comes to hiring employees, few companies bother to watch out for ‘ethnic balancing’!

Despite them being qualified for the positions they hold (if they are), it raises doubts about how sincere their appointments vis a vis the national good is.

Bias will always arise in every decision they make, even if it were professionally sound.

Tribalism breeds contempt, rivalry and economic imbalance.

Whether we like it or not, regional heads must look into this divisive practice for the sake of future stability and development!
