Airtel donates to Bugwere Kingdom

Bugwere Kingdom Officials led by the Kingdom Prime-Minister Eric Kasolo( C) receive a cheque of Ush25 Million from the Airtel MD Anwar Soussa , a contribution towards the Kingdom’s 3rdAnnual Coronation of Bishop John Chrysostom Wayabire, who is the King of the Bagwere.

UGANDA, KAMPALA – Airtel Uganda has donated Ush25million to Bugwere Kingdom found in Eastern Uganda to sponsor the Kingdom’s Annual Coronation Day Celebrations. 

The donation is towards supporting the 3rd Bugwere Kingdom Coronation Anniversary events slated for 6th to 8th July at Kadama Primary School in Kibuku district.

The donation was announced at Airtel head offices in Kampala by Airtel Uganda Managing Director Anwar Soussa in the presence of the Bugwere Kingdom Prime Minister Eric Kasolo.

Anwar Soussa applauded Bugwere King as well as the entire kingdom for recognizing the value of girl child education and encouraging their subjects to ensure that their daughters and sisters get an opportunity to receive a decent education.

Airtel Uganda has been on the forefront towards ensuring that Ugandan children have a better learning environment .

Soussa pledged to continue supporting individuals and institutions that are working tirelessly to create a positive impact on communities in which they live and work in.

Kasolo said the event will be celebrated under the theme “Empowering future mothers by maintaining the girl child in school for sustainable development”. It aims at consolidating unity among the Bagwere people in line with one of Airtel Uganda’s major CSR pillars – Education.

He commended Airtel for responding positively towards their king’s annual coronation celebration.


Aitel Uganda has been sponsoring cultural Institutions like Buganda Kingdom, Busoga Kingdom among others.
