Rwanda 's upcoming reggae musician Ras Banamungu is expected to perform to thousands of reggae lovers in Rwanda in a show to launch his maiden single album.
The album, Njooni Mpate Raha with 12 songs covers love themes, messages on HIV/Aids and touches on reconciliation in Rwanda .
The musician seems to be towing the government line of reconciling Rwandans after the 1994 genocide.
In the Vice-President of the NURC, Antoine Rutayisire's own words about why reconciliations in has to be preached: "Reconciliation is not just one of the many other options for us Rwandese, it is rather a non-negotiable obligation. An obligation to give ourselves hopes for our old age, an obligation to leave to our children a better Rwanda to grow and live in."
Ras Banamungu songs also call upon the rest of the world to come and enjoy staying in the reconciled Rwanda . The artiste sings in English, Swahili, Pidgin English and Kinyarwanda to pass over his message appeals to all age groups.
"My music cuts across all classes of audiences. It is like and is getting much airplay," Ras Banamungu says. He promises to traverse all corners of Rwanda during the official launch of the album probably in May this year. The talented artiste is also a member of the Best Sound music group where he plays almost all instruments.
