Annual Uganda trade fair ends this week
KAMPALA, Uganda - The Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) international trade fair ends in Kampala this week.
It was officially last week and during a news conference last week, Amos Nzeyi, the UMA chairman said they have 1263 companies that will be showcasing their products. This includes almost 400 international companies and at least 866 local exhibitors.
“This trade fare will help the local industry to gather intelligence, knowledge and experience from the international and more developed manufacturers from different countries. We are expecting 22 foreign countries like china, United States, Germany, Italy, South Africa, Pakistan, Syria, Turkey, Indonesia, Jordan, all the East African countries and many others,” Nzeyi said
He said local manufacturing has been steadily improving standards which makes it easier to compete in the regional market. The fair usually coincides with Uganda’s Independence celebrations.
