Rwanda cut paperwork to six hours

KIGALI, Rwanda  - A new business can be opened in Rwanda and registered in less than six hours.

An added attraction is that this can be done with no required capital investment upfront.

“Rwanda has continued to make positive strides and this is because of the good partnership there is between the private sector and public sector that has seen the opportunities to contribute to the journey of development and again have gained their rewards during this journey,” the Chief Executive Officer at Rwanda Development Board, Francis Gatare told a delegation of 50 visiting Japanese business people  recently

They were in Rwanda  to explore the different opportunities during a one day business seminar that was organized by RDB.

The Japanese Embassy and the Private Sector Federation of Rwanda helped to organise the event.

“The business climate and investment climate of the country has also been improved by the Rwandan government putting the country 32nd position globally and second to Mauritius in Africa in doing business,” Gatare said.

In 2013, Rwanda was ranked 52nd, and so made a leap of 20 places in one year.
