The launch was held at the StarTimes head offices in Kampala. MTN Chief Marketing Officer, Isaac Nsereko said, MTN Mobile money continues to entrench itself in the person to business arena offering customers a growing bouquet of convenient payment options for a wide range of services like utilities', school fees, groceries and pay TV.
"Star times TV has joined the growing list of partners using the MTN Mobile money platform to bring unprecedented convenience to it's over 65,000 customers across much of central Uganda," he said.
Nsereko said with over US$ 90million monthly transactions, the service is a record adaption rate for any non-tariff telecommunications product in Uganda.
The service is available to all MTN Mobile Money registered customers.
A number of companies in the service sector have outsourced their bill payments cutting ,any jobs in the process. This has also reduced the amount of losses incured by the firms.
