Telecom price wars should continue

E-mail Print PDF
Editor--Nothing makes customers happier than competitors striving to beat the other in providing affordable goods or services. In this case, its the public that benefits.
Telecom wars have introduced more services in the past 10months than ever before. The call rates have dropped, free goodies have been handed out and the advertising company has gathered bag fulls of money in advertising fees.
Mobile phones have moved from just voice communication to providing other services: phones are wallets, an access route to internet, and now a battle ground for advertising companies. In Uganda, the public can now call as low as ush1 a mere pennies in dollars. More so, the telecoms are fighting to out do themselves in who can provide more free and longer calls without going out of business. All in all may the telecom wars continue.
