The campaign will see the soft drink company take the 'Hapiness' to communities in 60 destinations across the country for the next two and a half months.
Last weekend the 'Open Hapiness' campaign was taken to the western Uganda town of Hoima, about 207 Km from the Capital, Kampala.
The campaign is scheduled to climax in the North-western district of Arua, the hosts of this year's secondary schools Copa Coca cola championships. Copa Coca cola is an annual tournament for all Secondary Schools in the country where the best players are selected and singled out for further training and championships outside Uganda.
Ms. Maggie Kigozi, the Coca cola Brand Manager, said the reason for this campaign is, "A research was carried out in 19 countries and it was discovered that Ugandan youth find happiness through eating, playing games and dancing. So we decided to bring happiness to the public."
As usual, the residents were treated to lots of freebies, drinks and music.
There were competitions in various games where winners were given gifts. The youth were also treated to a VIP reception where the ushers gave them different tips on how to take good care of themselves and other educative programs were on card.
The company has also launched a recycling campaign aimed at reducing the amount of waste material that is discarded.
