The phone that runs on the latest Symbian Anna software is a device for business mobility and majorly targets the corporate business niche with its features business connectivity, faster browsing and enhanced Ovi Maps.
Launching the phone at the Serena Hotel recently, the Nokia head of marketing in Eastern and Southern Africa Cathrine Kibunga said that the E6 is a natural successor to the Nokia E71 and Nokia E72.
"The phone offers direct and real-time access to corporate systems and supports intranet and extranet with certificate based authentication," Kibunga explained. "Updating to Symbian soft ware adds new icons, application search and enhanced maps experience."
With the accessory cable, the E6 can be used with most TV projectors and home cinema systems.
The head of sales in Eastern and Southern Africa, Gopher Ogembo warned the public against purchasing fake phones that diminish the brand. "Consumers should purchase phones from only the listed retail outlets because there are many people faking the product," Ogembo explained.
Nokia embarked on training to equip students with the skills to develop local applications.
