Burundi is the new African Best Exhibitor at the International Tourism Fair, the world's largest tourism exhibition that takes place every year in Berlin, Germany.
Burundi was crowned Africa's tourism king last week replacing Rwanda on the position it has enjoyed for the past four years. Rwanda came second followed by Tunisia.
The  victory was a surprise as it was the country's first time to take part in the fair after many years of civil war that almost brought the country down to its knees.
The tiny East African country showcased various tourist attractions but the most eye-catching was millet grinding.
On a Burundi stand, a woman kept grinding millet on a flat rock entertaining visitors.
Burundi and Rwanda are new members of the East African Community (EAC). They are the smallest compared to Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, the other members of the EAC.
However, these little countries are determined to raise the region's tourism sector to a new level. East Africa's tourism has for many years been driven by wildlife attractions but the new members are showcasing cultural tourism and the lifestyle of their people.
By promoting new products, Burundi and Rwanda are also sending signals to the rest of the world that East Africa remains an attractive region to visit.
