Harmonised communication policies a must

Editor--East Africa's Communications Organisation (EACO) is rooting for a harmonised user centric communications landscape in the region.
This includes harmonised licensing regime for telecommunications operators, uniform regional roaming charges, regional internet exchange point, Sim card registration, mobile number portability and linking up national backbone fiber infrastructure.
Communication is an integral part of a successful integration. Communication would ease doing business in the region something that could bring benefits to governments, businesses and residents. What needs to be done is simply commitment within the Governments to make communication easier in the region.
This will also push telecommunications operators to commit themselves on the regional plan
