Bralirwa shares up on RSE

KIGALI,  RWANDA — Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE) gained moment during the week that ended Friday, September 23 as the country’s brewer Bralirwa hit all time high of Rf282(US$0.47) after it announced a 40.1% growth in net profit during the first half of 2011.
Net profit grew to Rf5.4 billion ($9,060 million) from Rwf3.8 billion ($6.4 million).
Bralirwa’s revenue grew 26.5% mainly driven by higher volumes and the company’s Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased by 33.5%, the company said.
 Bank of Kigali (BK) shares traded between Rf135($0.21) and Rf138($0.23) and closed at Rf137(0.22) unchanged from the previous closing price, according to RSE weekly report. The report said Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) and Nation Media Group (NMG) counters were quiet.
