KIGALI, RWANDA- The Arrival of Boeing 737-800 last week from Seattle, United  States of America directly from Boeing Manufacturers has boosted Rwanda's aviation industry.
The Rwanda CEO, John Mirenge said that the coming of the new model Plane bought by Rwandair was  a process that began 2 years ago.
" The idea of buying the plane began 2 years and it has taken a short time for  Rwanda to realize it's dream of owning it's plane,Mirenge beamed with excitement said ,he added,  that another  Boeing 737-800 is due to arrive third week of October.
Micheal Otieno,Rwandair Corporate Communication Manager, told the East Africa Business Week,
"Though we can travel directly to Dubai without stopovers, we will still have to stopover Mombasa to pick passengers in Mombasa who frequently who go to Dubai for business."
Mr Otieno further said that the 72-37-800 Boeing has 154 seats and flight to Dubai will not take more than 6 hours.
The 737-800 flight schedule is expected to be times a week to Dubai. It is also to fly to Johannesburg regularly.
As Rwanda is accelerating in achieving it's development goals in line with Vision 2020,Rwanda Infrastructure Minister, Albert Nsengiyumva  said that Rwanda owning the Boeing and more to come was an indication of the Country's connectivity in the region and the world.
However he cautioned amidst excitement of Rwanda buying the Plane, the Rwanda staff  do not have to be complacent instead double their efforts in providing exceptional customer care service.Since 2009, the Rwandan government had allocated $ 500,000 for a 2 year to improve customer service in  a bid to increase the Country's Gross Domestic Product(GDP)   to $ 40 million by 2012 if services are improved, per the findings of of the Institute of Political Analysis and Research(IPAR).
Rwanda President, Paul Kagame has several times deplored customer service being low in the country urging Rwandan to change their mindsets in doing business.
Rwanda is concurrently working on  Infrastructure  and human capacity building and aviation industry  is one of them.
And  Otieno  said that Rwandair staff will serve well all their clients well because they are capable.
