Kampala, Uganda-For many fans, the anticipation was it would be the show of the year since it would be graced by Jamaican-American music star, Sean Kingston. He's already in the country and by 7:00 pm Friday evening, all roads were leading to Lugogo Cricket Oval for the Sean Kingston concert.
If you were part of the crowd at Lugogo, you must have gone for one reason 'he will not mime like R Kelly messed it up. None the less it was mimic or pre-recorded show.
The MC's of the long awaited concert were none other than MC John Kazoora and NTV's Suzan Naava.
First Ugandan musicians raised the curtains and among them were Cindy, Jackie, Radio and Weasel, Michael Ross and Kenya's trio P-Unit. At exactly 9:40pm, Nigeria's Mr. Flavour commonly known for his 'Ashawo' hit stormed the stage.
Mr. Flavour performed among others 'Ashawo' leaving girls yearning more from him especially when he pulled his shirt off showing his muscles.
"Ladies and Gentlemen put your hands together for the long awaited Jamaican music star-Sean Kingston." Kazoora urged.
This was followed by screams and the usual shouting and craning led by the Ushs 25,000 section. This was the largest group hurtling for space and oxygen as it was crowded.
It was at exactly 11:00pm, when Kingston together with his DJ rocked the stage with Me Love. Believe me had gained momentum
Majority of the revelers showed their happiness by throwing bottles at Kingston. May be this did not work for Sean because Kazoora had to stop them. "Ugandans please behave and stop throwing things at Sean because he will get angry, "Kazoora said.
The crowd was huge given the diverse blend of curtain-raising by Kenya's P Unit and Nigeria's Mr. Flavour.  With the great expectations that the fans in the 21 year old Jamaican-American singer, fans in the VIP section had to stand on plastic chairs all through. As for those in the ordinary section, it was time for them to have a share of the VIP.
As if bouncers and security guards had handed over their duties to the fans by 11:00pm, it was a walk over from ordinary to VIP section. Face Drop, Take You There and I'm at War were his first songs to perform. Just after 26 minutes, Sean took a respite for organizers to control the fans. "Our money… be realistic…stop robbing us and many more were some of the comments from the crowd as Sean took a breather. This they said in anticipation that he would not return.
But he did return after close to 10 minutes after which he shortly did doing Dirty Love, Beautiful Girls and Fire Burning.
"This is my favorite and I will have it last," Sean said as he rounded up with 'Why you wanna go'.
To end the show, Kazoora could not hold going without something from Sean. "It is Ugandan tradition for one to exchange a watch with the MC for recognition like it happened for R Kelly," Kazoora explained.
As if Sean was not well with it because he resisted for some seconds but handed over the bling in respect of Ugandan tradition.
With over 90 songs and collaborations to Sean Kingston, the organizers are commended for choosing songs to suit his 30 minutes mimic performance.
