KAMPALA, UGANDA - Electricity users in Uganda should brace themselves for more dark days due to increased shortage of power generation, Umeme officials disclosed on Friday.
Umeme has however in a bid to control outrage from its customers amidst increased load-shedding introduced an incident room to suppress the outage and power supply issues.
Tom Lanigan the Umeme Chief Operations Officer and acting Managing Director said electricity users countrywide will on set be informed of any related load-shedding using the new communication strategy.
"We are all experiencing the impact of load-shedding. People across the country should know what is happening and what they expect to happen," he said at the function held at the Uganda Electricity Transformation (UETCL) power station at Lugogo.
Lanigan said Umeme will ensure transparency while managing outage issues.
