E-mail Print PDF
KIGALI, RWANDA-The passing of the East African Community transboundary ecosystems management bill, 2010 was last week adjourned to November when the Council of Ministers are expected to have completed consultations with stakeholders.
It will then be brought back to the plenary session of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) that is to be held in Bujumbura, Burundi.
The private members bill tabled by EALA member George Nangale three years ago seeks to establish the East African Transboundary Ecosystems Management Commission that will be responsible for monitoring and supervision of the implementation of EAC policies on management of the transboundary ecosystems including the Lake Victoria basin among others.
